The UAE Artificial Intelligence Office, in partnership with Google
Gemini, has introduced one-year free access to the 'Google AI Plus' program.
This program gives university students access to Google Gemini and other
AI-powered tools and technologies.
This move aligns with the UAE Government's efforts to equip students
with modern digital skills and tools, and to prepare a generation that can
effectively and responsibly use AI's expanding capabilities.
This initiative supports national capacity-building and improves the
readiness of young talents for future demands.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence,
highlighted that the UAE leadership follows a proactive vision that centers on
humanity in its journey toward the future.
This vision is achieved through sustainable investment in empowering new
generations with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities that enhance their
ability to contribute to development and reinforce the UAE's position as a
global model in foresight and shaping the future.
He added that the next phase involves moving beyond just using AI tools
to cultivating a deeper understanding of how to use them responsibly in
learning and research.
Al Olama stressed that providing students with the latest models and
tools, and training them in their use, fosters a culture of continuous
learning, exploration, and innovation.
This helps students expand their knowledge, develop new solutions, and
play a vital role in shaping an AI-driven future.
The 'Google AI Plus' program offers students access to a range of AI
tools that support study, research, and content creation.
These include the 'Gemini' app with its latest AI model, along with
tools that help manage sources and information, summarize study materials and
references, and prepare research.The program can be accessed through the link
(goo.gle/studentoffer26-uae).
The benefits also include AI-powered tools for generating images and
videos, as well as 'Gemini Notebook,' which lets students interact with
academic materials and sources, prepare summaries, and access interactive audio
content.
The program also provides 400 GB of storage space.
As part of the collaboration between the AI Office and Google, a series
of virtual and in-person training programs will be organized for university
students.
These programs aim to develop their skills in using 'Gemini' and 'Gemini
Notebook' for study and research, while promoting responsible AI usage.
Through its partnerships with global technology institutions, the UAE
continues to build a comprehensive ecosystem for AI capacity development and
strengthens its position as a global hub for developing and adopting advanced
technologies.
The focus is on empowering new generations with the necessary tools and
skills for active participation in the future economy.
This expansion of the program follows the strong response from the
university student initiative last year, with this year's program extending to
a larger number of students in the Arab region.
The program allows registered university students in the UAE aged 18 and
above to register for free access to the plan for a full year, provided
registration is completed before 31 December 2026.
This collaboration is part of the 'AI for All' initiative launched by
the AI Office and Google in 2024.
The initiative aims to broaden access to AI technologies, develop
essential skills in this field, support relevant research, and create solutions
and applications that benefit various segments of society.
